Evaluation

This is my final magazine design. I am very happy with it, it suits the target audience which is 16-20 year olds and it is bright and colourful which really catches the eye. For example, if my magazine cover was on a shelf, id think it would stand out form the rest.

I decided to use a picture of a student looking very smart to fit in with the whole sixthform/college theme. I took three other photos, but i compared them and decided that this one suits the magazine a lot better.

The mast head is big and colouful, this stands out. At first i had the the mast head a lot smaller but then i realised it wasnt very easy to read, so i increased the size and now it is much more easier to read.

An area of improvment could be the amount of text, as i joined media late, i had less time to create my cover, so if i was to do it again i'd spend more time on the text because the cover looks quite blank the way it is now. This could also be to do with time managment, i have to think about the deadline and really try to manage my time properly.

Overall, if i left more time to create my cover it could be improved a lot more, but i am very happy with the way it turned out.

Here is a draft/example of what my magazine cover could look like. It is bright and colourful and really catches the eye. When i come to designing my actual magazine cover i will use my own photos and not take them of the internet. I think this will really apeal to the set target audience because it is bright and colourful and relates to the age group.

Profile

The target audiance for my magazine are students attending a college or a sixthform, studying their A-Levels or similar courses. The age of these individuals can range between 16-20, but this magazine will also be useful to people who would like to read about the college or sixth form, typically around the age of 15.

The people that are 15 years of age and lower maybe interested and would like to see what the school they could potentially be joining is all about.
